Machu Picchu - Cusco Train, River, Tunnel, Aguas Calientes
Description: Even if you hike the Inca Trail, you will probably take the tourist train in the Sacred Valley for part of your trip. The station shown at the begining is Oyantaytambo and there isn't much more than what you see. Wall to wall buses and cars fill the only road for half a mile when the trains are running.
Things are well marked, but you have to pay attention. I think the ride to Machu Picchu was about four hours. The train is very nice. On the way back they had a fashion show and sold high end clothes and scarves.
The town of Aguas Calientes, shown at the end of the video, is the rail terminus and about twenty minutes from Machu Picchu by bus. Pleasant, relaxed, great restaurants and hotels, but pricey and a little touristy. Video Machu Picchu - Cusco Train, River, Tunnel, Aguas Calientes.
